I am at the Los Alamitos-Tesoro game — the Barnes Bowl — father John Barnes coaching Los Al against son Brian Barnes’ Tesoro team.
Just got back to the press booth after visiting with both head coaches …
Tesoro coach Brian Barnes said his team is healthy and good to go. John Barnes said Los Al is banged up — “but” as he said, “who isn’t this time of year?” Assistant coach Barry Sher of Los Al said, “If you know our team, you’ll know who’s missing.”
This is the first round of the playoffs. We had some first round games last night, and there will be a couple on Saturday. But this is the first big night of the playoffs.
So get those Blackberrys and PCs and whatever you have ready. Lights, shoulder pads, action …
