  • bigboy says:

I know Mayfair is good but what about the other suburban league teams: Norwalk, La Mirada and Artesia?

  • thevine says:

Wow Westminister who what of thunk it.Gonna be a big game. Tell you the truth I hoped it would be one of the GGL or GWL teams .I know nothing about them only what i have read on blogs. How good are they? How do we match up? Wow .

  • sickmofo says:

HOW DOES WESTMINSTER MATCH UP WITH IRVINE?
WHAT KIND OF D.. DOES IRVINE RUN ..

FROM WHAT I HEAR ARTESIA IS A REALLY GOOD TEAM BIG AND FAST .. I KNOW NORWALKS RUNING BACK IS HAS BEEN HURT AND THE JR. BACK UP WE HURT ALSO

  • miles says:

GO LOBOS! forget last friday and focus on the playoffs.

  • thevine says:

    4-4 D sickmo

  • yeah right says:

    TheVine –

Westminster has the best player in the division, he will be tough to stop. This is going to be a battle, but I think Irvine has the advantage because have you been up into the northern part of the county today? Let’s just say all the South County teams will have the huge advantage of being able to practice this week. Of course even without practice, once the ball is in 21′s hands, anything can happen.

Artesia could very possibly beat LH. They have an excellent Qb and are good at the skill positions. They are a little light on personnel, so depth might be a problem, especially after sucking down all that smoke for a week.

Norwalk is a double wing team, I expect they’ll handle GG

CDm should not have much trouble with La Mirada

  • thevine says:

Mayfair physical and big as Laguna Hills but run the spread
    from what people tell me

  • thevine says:

Ya fires again ugh! Laguna Hills has excellent run game,QB options and he is fast and slippery Tough on D too all you can handle.I dont know nothing about Surburban.

  • yeah right says:

It’s funny, all the good teams are playing each other in round on, all the crappy teams are playing each other.

On the one hand you have Santa Ana/Laguna beach, Segerstrom/Los Amigos, Costa Mesa/Santiago, and on the other , you’ve got Westminster/Orvine and LH/Artesia. Look at Mayfair’s draw! Somebody in CIF like them, automatic trip to the semis.

  • MotoType says:

Watch out for the Norwalk High Lancers. They are an up-and-coming team with great momentum behind then. Whatever the outcome of this round in the playoffs, the noble Lancers will return next year…and again and again. Keep your eye on that program.

  • thevine says:

CdM is no push over and maybe that bottom bracket is lighter so CdM is looking good too!

  • yeah right says:

The longer Norwalk runs that double wing, the more teams in that league will get used to it and start to stop it. I’ve seen it happen time and time again with the DW. I give them one more year before the wheels fall off the wagon.

  • thevine says:

Who is the fav in the Laguna Bch/Santa Ana game?

  • yeah right says:

doesn’t matter, they both get killed in round 2

  • thevine says:

    What about Segerstro/Los Amigos?

  • PMaK says:

Dont worry both of our runningbacks are healthy..see you on friday garden grove..

  • yeah right says:

doesn’t matter, they get even more killed in round two, the smart team here is the one that loses. It’ll save the embarrassment

  • PMaK says:

So artesia and laguna hills wow I hope LH is fast cuz those boys at artesia can move.. And la mirada ain’t no pushover either their big in the skilled positions so look for matchup problems..

  • MotoType says:

Don’t anyone worry about La Mirada. They are weak sause this year. They fell apart a coupla years ago and are beginning to rebuild, but aren’et even close yet.

  • yeah right says:

LH, isn’t as fast as Artesia, but they are a more established program with depth. I think it’ll be a war for awhile and then Artesia will start to wear down.

  • thevine says:

    Sooo…..
    Bracket 1
    LHHS
    Artesia
    Costa Mesa
    Santiago
    Fav(s) LHHS,Artesia

    Bracket 2
    GG
    Norwalk
    Westminister
    Irvine
    Fav(s) IDK???

    Bracket 3
    Mayfair
    Calv Chapel
    Los Amigos
    Segerstrom
    Favs-Mayfair?

    Bracket 4
    Santa Ana
    Laguna Bch
    La Mirada
    CdM
    Favs-CdM,La Mirada

  • yeah right says:

Norwalk got put where they didn’t want to be. If anybody knows how to stop the double wing offense, it’s Westminster. Norwalk’s gotta be rootin’ for Irvine.

  • Beckman says:

I play for Beckman and this week we lost to CDM 20-10 and with 2 minutes left in the game the players on CDM were still talking trash. It was obvious that we weren’t going to win and they were still talking about every little thing. Not to mention that was some of our players’ last football game ever. Way to show class CDM.

  • thevine says:

Let it Motivate you for next year kid

  • sickmofo says:

Norwalk and Segerstrom both run a double wing offense some thing teams need to watch out for..

beckman you have next year to shout CDM UP ..

  • cking says:

alright beckman, I play for cdm and you guys were talking just as much trash as we were, stop being a sore loser and have fun experiencing the playoffs from this website and not on the field.

  • CIF Hater says:

So Laguna Hills goes wire to wire as the #1 team in the division and their reward is a 7-3 Artesia team. While Mayfair gets to play Calvary Chapel and Santa Ana gets Laguna Beach. The wizards of the CIF strike again.

  • CDM says:

hey guys i have no clue where beckman is getting this trash talking thing from.

  • sickmofo says:

TRASH TALK IS PART OF THE GAME DEAL WITH IT SUCK IT UP…
    EVERYONE IS 0-0 PLAYOFF TIME

  • Legit40 says:

Westminster vs. Irvine is the biggest game for the 1st round.
This match-up should have been in the semi atleast.
Can’t say who will come out with the W but what a game its going to be.
    Good Luck 2 all teams!!!!!!!!!!

  • bigboy says:

    finals predictions?

  • matadores says:

cdm is in for a surprise first round knock out

  • RUDMA says:

Wow! Artesia vs LH! THis can very well be a first round upset. Artesia is very fast and I dont know if LH can keep up with them. It should be an interesting game. What i’m hearing is that Artesia is not afraid of LH and they have nothing to lose against them. They will be ready to play. LH watch out! You might need some wheels to keep up!

  • bigboy says:

that should be a good game…cdm’s defense will cause problems for the matadores and the sea kings can score in multiple ways but la mirada will probably outsize cdm….laguna hills is still the favorite

  • SANTiAGO CAVALiER says:

DANG!SANTiAGO AGAiNST COSTA MESA!DANG GONNA BE A GOOD GAME!
AS FOR GARDEN GROVE WiSH YOU LUCK ARGOS! LETZ MAKE
THE GGL LOOK GOOD THiS YEAR AND FOR US TOO!
AND FOR THE LOBOS TOO FORGET ABOUT LOOSiNG TO US
JUST KEEP iT UP iT WUZ A GOOD GAME #10 FOR YOU GUYZ iS
PRETTY GOOD HEEZ GONNA HELP YOU ALOTT WiSH YOU
    LUCK LOBOS AND ARGOS!

  • CDM KINGS says:

    Kings got this game
we may not have the size but we hit

  • saints27 says:

I THINK LAGUNA HILLS IS GONA TAKE IT ALL IS GONA BE CORONA DEL MAR VS LAGUNA HILLS FOR THE TITLE.. GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS THIS IS GONA BE THE BEST CIF GAMES EVER

  • LOL says:

@SANTiAGO CAVALiER- you guys will smash on Costa Mesa. They are so unbelievably bad but they’re luckily in a horrible league so they took first. All the PCL teams destroyed them with ease. You shouldn’t have any worries.

  • RedPWR says:

If Artesia does not learn to stop the run, it’s going to be a long night.

  • thevine says:

Ya no joke if #32 and #27 dont run all over you Refsnyder (Laguna Hills) will! By all accounts Artesia is good though.I cant wait to see how PCL stacks up vs SL

  • RedPWR says:

First half should be good, hopefully it will take a while for LH to stop our passing game. Second half similar to the Mayfair game, the Artesia defense will start to wear down.

  • thevine says:

Laguna has decent special teams. The kicker is top level lucky if you return one kickoff. They run options and quick bubble screens and also run the ball down you throat. The QB is very dangerous converted WR so he can break loose maybe passing is not their strong suit but really they dont need it.I am sure they can still do it.

  • thevine says:

    whats the scouting on Norwalk

  • Mario77 says:

Artesia has speed; however, they are weak defensively. In addition, they have key players playing both ways. By the 4th quarter they are sluggish and vulnerable.

  • PMaK says:

Norwalk is a score score score kind of team they run then run then run again..there defense is all about stopping the run with there d line and..

  • RedPWR says:

Norwalk got a nice first round match up. Both teams have a common opponent in Los Amigos.

  • HawksRule says:

All suburban league teams will out by week two and barbeque.

  • sickmofo says:

norwalk rushing avg, 8.40 yard with 31 TD`S #1 RAY CRAIG AND #5 JOSE GUZMAN TOP RB AND WR
they do not pass much but when they do avg 18 yards 3 TD`S

  • SANTiAGO CAVALiER says:

LOL…. THANXZ YEAH i HEARD WELL WE BEAT LH LAST YEAR AND WE CAN TRY iT AGAiN THiS YEAR! MiGHT BE TUFF BUT WE CAN DO iT! ALL iT TAKE iS WORK!

  • Manuel says:

    Laguna Hills 63-21 over Artesia.

  • gglovesyou says:

    COME ON GARDEN GROOOOOOVE!

  • RedPWR says:

Come on Manuel 63 is a little extreme!

  • Empire fan says:

sickmofo, thanks for all the information and links, your contribution is much appreciated.

  • Lobo! says:

ya all bout the garden grove league… lobos argos and cavs we better represent

  • sickmofo says:

Artesia QB LIKES TO RUN THE BALL AND IS VERY GOOD SOME ONE TO HAVE A SPY ON

  • matadores says:

anyone know anything about la mirada?

  • RedPWR says:

I know their record is a little deceiving. The 4 non league teams they played went a combined 36-4. Should be able to hold CDM under
30, but can they generate enough offense to win?

  • bigboy says:

you tell us matador…u should know all about la mirada…I did hear they have some good athletes tho

  • lilly saints fan says:

NO WAY EVEN THOUGH SANTA ANA SAINTS IS NOT IN YOUR FAVORITES WELL SHOW HOW TOUGHT WE ARE SEE YOU ALL IN THE FINAL.

  • lilly saints fan says:

    SAINTS #1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • MONSOON FOOTBALL says:

SUBURBAN LEAGUE IS WEAK THE ONLY DOMINAT TEAM IN THAT LEAGUE IS MAYFAIR. THEY HAD NO CONTEST REALLY IN ANY OF THEIR BIG GAMES THIS SEASON. ARTESIA IS OVER RATED AND LAMIRADA IS NOT THE SCHOOL THEY USED TO BE. IT WILL BE LAGUNA HILLS AND MAYFAIR IN THE CIF FINALS!

  • RedPWR says:

Congrats on being league champion of a weak league.

  • 0925 says:

Laguna Hills from what i’ve seen is rlly a second half team. if artesia cant put them out in the first half theyre going to get crushed cus from what im reading artesia doesnt have a lot of endurance.
