Edison had their fate in their hands Friday night and scored 3 points against Esperanza. The previous week they pulled off a miracle and got a great penalty call to get a comeback win against FV. They had a great year. They played Servite; Mater Dei; Los Alimitios; Esperanza; Fountain Valley and Newport Harbor and Dana Hill, all in the Register's top 15 last Friday. They lost to Servite; Los Al and Esperanza in very close games - Can't argue about their strength of schedule.. No excuses, but they did loose some key players along the way and a number of those that did play were limited in one way or another. But the fact that they weren't picked to fill the at large spot isn't the real problem. The real problem is that there was no rule in place to deal with a 5 team tie. Think about it, The Sunset League reprsentatives could have been Esperanza; Newport Harbor and Fountain Valley while Los Al; Esperanza and Edison could have gone home - Bet there would have been a lot of moanin then, eh?
