Trabuco Hills enters playoffs on high note

IRVINE — Behind four first-quarter touchdowns, Trabuco Hills will head into the postseason on a high note with a 49-0 victory over host Northwood on Thursday night at Irvine High.


Jason Mayer opened the scoring for the Mustangs (6-4, 4-1 Sea View League) with a 12-yard pass to Justen Lasch less than three minutes into the game. Lasch caught two more TDs from Mayer in the quarter, and Shane Decilio added a 4-yard score as the Mustangs took control. (Full game stats.)

Mayer finished 18 of 20 for 242 yards and four touchdowns, while Decilio rushed for 103 of his 242 yards in the first quarter.

Chris Simonton (27-yard reception), Decilio (48-yard run) and Andrew Josue (2-yard run) completed the scoring for Trabuco Hills, which had 600 yards of total offense.

Northwood ended its season 2-8 and 0-5 in league.
