SANTA ANA — Donevin Washington scored on a 69-yard run midway through the fourth quarter to lead Savanna to a 21-17 Orange League victory over Century on Friday night at Segerstrom High.
Washington, who finished with 137 yards on just nine carries, helped the Rebels (3-7, 1-4) overcome five turnovers, including four fumbles recovered by Century (2-8, 0-5). (Full game stats.)
With just under five minutes left in the first quarter, Donald Livingston gave Savanna the lead with a 6-yard scoring run.
The Centurions pulled closer to the Rebels on a 29-yard field goal by Marvin Devia 11 seconds before the end of the period.
Abraham Palacios gave Century a 10-7 lead when he scored on a 3-yard run midway through the third period for the first of his two TDs, but Dashawn Miller put Savanna back into the lead on a 62-yard dash.
