November 12th, 2008, 5:37 pm · Post a Comment · posted by STEVE FRYER, ocvarsity.com

TUSTIN (6-3 overall, 4-0 league) VS. EL DORADO (3-1, 4-5)

Site, time: Valencia High, Thursday, 7 p.m.

Outlook: Tustin takes a six-game winning streak into this Century League game. After starting 0-3, the Tillers began winning once top offensive players overcame injuries, which made for a consistent lineup. Once the lineup became consistent, so did the double-wing offense.Tustin is averaging 55 points a game in the Century League.

El Dorado, 5-0 in league last year and two-time defending CIF-Southern Section Southwest Division champion, has won three in a row. But two of those victories were against 1-8 teams, Brea Olinda and El Modena. Tustin and El Dorado are going to the playoffs, but this one is for the league championship. The league's No. 1 team is guaranteed a first-round home game when the playoffs start next week. Tustin's won't score 50 against El Dorado, but the Tillers should win.

Winner: Tustin
