CYPRESS (6-3, 4-0) VS. PACIFICA (5-4, 3-1)

Site, time: Bolsa Grande High, Friday, 7 p.m.

Outlook: This Empire League game is a rematch of last season's CIF-SS Southern Division championship game. Cypress won that one, 36-30. In the regular season, Pacifica beat Cypress, 35-34, in one of the wildest games of the decade. This year's matchup could be as high-scoring as those. Cypress is averaging 29 points a game in league, and Pacifica is averaging 36 in league. Cypress, though, thus far has been the better team defensively, and the Centurions will need to be.

Pacifica's Josh Brannon, whose 1,688 rushing yards trails only county and state rushing leader Robert Cruz of Magnolia. Pacifica has missed Raymond Huizar, the Mariners' starting quarterback last year as a junior who during this injury-affected senior year has been on the field in only four games. Cypress is one of the hottest teams in the county, and should stay that way, although this smells like a close game.

Cypress can not stop #35 Josh Brannon who is going to run right down the field drive after drive and score and score!!! This game will avenge last december's game. Coach Guy Gardener will make sure PaCIFica is ready Friday. The Mariner's will leave it on the field for all of Orange County to see!!! Don't miss this game. I'm driving 300 mile's to see it! This Old Lineman can't wait! Long Live 1978 CRUNCH BUNCH 11-1-1!!!

im taking pacifica, i dont believe cypress is good enough on offense to put up points with pacifica so dont be suprised if u see #35 running up and down the field all game long

huizar is going to play and will show how a true warrior plays through pain...as long as the d cordinator (choke) i mean chote doesnt try to coach to hard and lets his players just play they win by at least 14 huizar stats for the game 14-20 205 2 td's.......

Fryer is absolutely right. The Centurions will run it right up the gut of the Mariner defense. Pacifica got no chance. We are the defending champs chokers, woops i mean mariners.

Hey Mariner's, Fryer and Albano have picked Cypress to defeat PaCIFica! I guess they didn't see the Final game last December? Well I did, and PaCIFica had the game locked up at the half! Then it started to rain and it so reminded me of 1978 at the Big A! Cypress ran QB Sweep's the whole second half and could not be stopped! But for a Year now I keep reading about this great choke job the Mariner's put on??? If you were at this game it was a PaCIFica 1st half and a Cypress 2nd half. I'm not even going to bring up the 15 yard penalty's against PaCIFica in the 4th qtr... I am so very Proud how the Mariner's never gave up with less than 2 minutes to go!!! Cypress you all know how close this game was!!! NO WAY WAS IT A CHOKE JOB!!! It was the best CIF Final Game I've ever seen, and I've seen alot! I saw Bishop Amat with Pat Hadden and JJ McKay in my first CIF Final! I have Loved High School Football ever since! May the BEST TEAM WIN this Friday night! And be Officiated Fairly and Equal to both side's this time... GO BLUE- YOU KNOW WHAT TO-DO!!!!

phs o-line has been creating all of this for brannon and their all juniors and sophomores!!! lets hope they come to play again tonight i like seeing pacifica's one side of the line weighing in at 250 and 300lbs pancaking linebackers and d linemen . good luck tonight boys!
