The Calhoun Six to Watch: El Dorado vs. Tustin

November 11th, 2008, 7:09 pm · · posted by

El Dorado (4-5, 3-1) vs. No. 16 Tustin (6-3, 4-0)

Thursday, 7 p.m., at Valencia High

Outlook: Did you give up on El Dorado? After a 1-5 start it might have been easy to.

However, after three consecutive league victories, here is El Dorado with a shot at grabbing a share of the league title.

El Dorado is averaging 45.3 points over its past three games. Kane Wilson struggled with a shoulder injury earlier this season but has the offense in gear now.

Sinjian Hathoot and Brock Dunn have combined for 12 rushing touchdowns.

Tustin had a slow start of its own (0-3), but that was then and now the Tillers are leaving opponents sprawled out on the field.

Tustin is on a six-game winning streak. The offense is averaging 51.3 points a game during that stretch.

The ground game is led by Anthony Wilkerson (1,149 yards and 16 touchdowns) and Ameer Webb (756 yards and 10 touchdowns).

Defensively, Tustin is just as menacing with the likes of Chris Robinson, Justice Tausaga and Faitele Faafoi on the line.

Will all of this be too much for El Dorado? Can the Golden Hawks bank of their big game experience to carry them to a share of the Century League title?

Yep. Get those track spikes on.

  • Chatter says:

    Hathoot or Wilkerson? Wow!

  • EldoHawk says:

hahaha you guys are funny! We’ve got some returners from injuries and fixed up our defense. the ONLY reason tustin has been successful is because of Wilkerson. He’s a stud dont get me wrong, but I think my boys will give Tustin a hard night.

  • This will be an awesome game no doubt. I think it will be a little more low scoring however with the game played in the 20s by both teams. Who wins? I don’t know.

Tustin has been playing great since league play began, they got healthy and stayed healthy and are now clicking on all cylinders, El Dorado got off to a tough start do to injuries and a tough non league schedule, now they’re healthy and playing good on both sides of the ball, Tustin is a one trick pony with that wing-T offense but this year i think that one trick maybe enough not only in this game but to carry them deep into the playoffs, they have a big stong fast defense and on offense they sometimes have the three fastest players on the field among there QB and two wing backs, i like Tustin by at least 14 in this one
