  • Lane says:

How can Los Alamitos be first when El Toro beat them twice? This doesn’t match what is on the CIF site. Isn’t the CIF poll made by a committee of division I representative coaches? That poll is far more accurate than what is posted above! Why the difference?

  • PoloDan says:

Lane, your right, this doesn’t make sense. I was saying the same thing on Saturday. This ranking above for Nov 11th is what the Southern Section Site had as a poll on Saturday, Nov 8th. However, this Nov 8th rankings was later changed during the day to show Foothill, ElToro, Los Al with other adjustments that I will assume was for seeding with no “updating” note like Albano does when he makes a change or adds contents. As a final poll, Nov 11th, this is the exact replica of what appeared on the CIF Website on Saturday, Nov 8th. Someone’s smoking something and it ain’t me.

  • Christy says:

    Go ElMo!

  • Bye Bye says:

Lane/polodan I agree. It appears as though the coaches’ poll favors Los Al, but they are not as strong as everyone had hoped this season. One thing the coaches have failed to see is depth within the Los Al squad. They all play like individuals. That’s a coaching issue!

    Be proud… Go Chargers!

  • El Mo dad says:

Can anyone enlighten me??? Why did Riverside Poly drop to 6th in division II??
Haven’t they been ranked #3 all year long..

Ditto on the “GO EL MO!!!”

  • In the Know says:

Riverside was overrated all year. They never beat any of the teams ranked above them in this final poll.

  • polodad says:

El toro is the true #1. They beat los Al 2x’s, Villa Park 2x’s, Foothill ,Harvard Westlake, Sacred Heart, Newport, CDM, La Canada, Riverside Poly amd so on…. There only 2 loses were to the best team in the state Miramonte and an overtime lose to Foothill. I do feel however that CIF did the right thing by seeding Foothill higher in the brackets because you HAVE to reward league champions and even though they split, Foothill won the only 1 of the 2 that truly mattered. The best part is that unlike college footballl we have a playoff in place to decide it. El Mo dad and Christy good for you yesterday and Canyon looked good as well.

  • Bye Bye says:

Do you think El Mo has a chance Thursday?

  • El Mo dad says:

    Our schedules only crossed once:
El Modena 11, San Clemente 4
    Wilson 13, San Clemente 7

And those games don’t tell you much..

I think It’ll be a very good game, the teams seen to be well matched. Wilson will have the home team advantage. El Mo will have one small advantage: El Mo, as we have been all season, will be viewed as the weaker team. The boys have disappointed many over confidant teams this season.

    Here’s a link to Wilsons record: http://www.wilsonboysaquatics.org/WPRecaps.cfm?Team=Var

  • rawrski says:

a couple things. ok elmo won woho! who cares it was a rummy team. and ya El Toro should be higher but hey just gives them a chance to show everyone they are 1.

  • NoMo says:

El Mo may have skinned Norco. big deal…

I just looked at Wilson’s link provided above, but I have also seen them play. When they played Poly HS it was as if Klaus was coaching and Wilson had the class not to run the score up, wink, wink… on Poly. I hope the Wilson team comes out with the same intensity and they should not have a problem finishing within the top 3.

I hope Millikan and Wilson go far – Go Moore league!

  • No Way says:

I don’t disagree that El Toro should be ranked above Los Al. But are you kidding on the playing like individuals part. Coach Carlson kicks the best athletes off the team if they do not play with the team. Also, I’m not sure you’ve seen El Toro play before, they yell at each other, argue, and take stupid brutalities. I don’t think that is what you call teamwork. But, they do have good players, and did beat Los Al so they should be above them.

  • polofan says:

How does El Modena get ranked #10 when Tesoro beat them easily within the past week?

  • HAHA go tesoro! Dominated elmo and doing it again against riverside tomorrow!

  • polodad says:

I watched El Toro play Esperansa today. Yes they are very talented but also play very selfish. No Way is correct when he says that they yell at one another during the game. There were 2 or 3 instances today when you could hear certain individuals arguing with one another during the game. My question is this: will they be solid enough as a team to STAY TOGETHER in a tight game. If they can not come together winning 12-5 against Esperansa what will it be like in the semi’s or finals tied 5-5 in the 4th quarter?

  • polofan says:

enlighten us polodad who was yelling at each other?

  • Polocluba says:

I think el toro is a bunch of punks that dont deserve anything yes they have amazing talent but that doesnt mean anything if u dont work as a team. And seriously have u seen them play its a joke u can’t win anything like that believe me I have tried but I think the team that wins is gunna be who ever works together the best not who has the best players

  • polodad says:

Not going there. Let’s just leave it at face value.

  • El Mo dad says:

Polofan and Tesoro player, Tesoro has a talented team, don’t believe anyone who tells you that your team can’t beat Riverside! With a couple breaks and the intensity you brought to our game you’ll walk away the victor..

Good Luck in a big upest this afternoon!!!

  • justwondering says:

Why does Mater Dei get to catwalk to the finals?
I know they are the #1 seed, however the hardest team they will face before the final is probably going to be Riverside Poly(#6)! On the other side of the bracket you have the #2, the #3, the #4, & the #5 ranked teams. This seems to be a bit off balanced. Especially when #3 La Canada has to play #4 JSerra in the quarter finals!

  • whattheheck says:

I’ve been following division IV teams, Righetti is ranked No. 6 behind No. 1 Arroyo Grande and No. 3 Malibu. Righetti has beaten both these teams, Malibu 2 weeks ago and Arroyo Grande the week before. shouldn’t this figure into CIF rankings? One would think so….
