There was a lot at stake in Friday's La Habra-Fullerton game. The Freeway League championship, bragging rights and most likely the No. 1 ranking in the CIF Southwest Division.
The Highlanders picked up a 24-7 victory, thanks to the running of this player. Our week 9 star is ...
Joshua Quezada, La Habra, Jr. running back
Quezada rushed for 230 yards on 19 carries and scored two touchdowns (36 and 44 yards in La Habra's victory. With Quezada and Ronnie Hillman leading the way, the Highlanders will be extremely difficult in the playoffs.

D.C.: Good pick. Quezada was a stud last night even though Fully defenders tried to rip his hair off. Steve Fryer checked the rule book and there is no rule against pulling someone's hair while tackling them. It still didn't stop Quezada.
The hair is part of the uniform. You wear your hair long, you take your chances. I remember in high school we played a team and their RB had long hair coming out from under his helmut. Our coach put a bounty on somebody pulling him down by his hair. Late in the 4th quarter we did. Ripped a large chunck of his hair from his scalp. He was bleeding very badly and did not return. Like I say, you take your chances.
Great choice for Offensive star of the week. Josh does not get the credit he deserves. He is a great RB... Great job josh now take it all the way to the finials. Go La Habra......
way to play josh and ronnie you played with your hearts on your sleves and with all the smack fullerton talked you pulled it together like true champions do good luck in CIF...
how about magnolias robert cruz, 324 and 6 tds and thats about his average for the year, maybe a little more, and he is just getting warmed up for the playoffs. take notice colleges!!
Way to go Josh, we are so proud of you! Just a note: Pulling Josh's hair just makes him even more motivated - I hear the Thunder rumbling!!
tongan man
tongan man.
Joshua Quezada is by far the best player at La Habra, and anyone who has seen him this year can see that. He gets no respect because for some reason the Register and Fryer are hooked on Hillman, for what reason I don't know why...
maybe cuz hillman is also a great player...
and no credit??
he just earned offensive star of the week...
OVER hillman
How about offensive Player Of The Year? Robert Cruz...
Lead's State in rushing yard's2,300 +
Tied in State in Scoring
Most important Stat... Carrying his Team to the play off's, first time in 28years AMAZING!!
Freeway, Hillman and Quezada are brothers in La Habra's football family!!! They compliment each other and make each other better. the reason the Register and Fryer are "hooked" on Hillman is because he is a great player! he's the kind of player that demands the attention of the defense and this opens up the offense for others. Quezada is also a great player and a difference maker on the field! We are fortunate to have these special young men in our program!!! You can't stop thunder and lightning!!!
