Anaheim (5-3, 2-1) vs. No. 18 Western (6-2, 3-0)
Friday, 7 p.m. at Glover Stadium
Outlook: Anaheim will be out for revenge especially with the way last year’s game ended.
The Colonists led 17-14 in the fourth quarter, only to have Ruben Ortega score a touchdown and two-point conversion to give the Pioneers a 22-17 victory and set off a wild celebration in the annual Bell Game.
Trust me, I was there.
Anaheim rebounded after its loss to Santa Ana Valley with a 41-7 victory over Century last week.
Western survived a scare from Savanna last week but escaped with a 20-14 victory thanks to an Ortega touchdown with 1:25 remaining.
Ortega can take over a game on both sides of the ball at running back and linebacker and slowing him will be important for the Colonists.
Anaheim will also have to contend with Western’s speed with the likes of Quincey Kizee and Mookie Cooksie.
The Bell will be in attendance, but who is going to ringing it when the clock expires?
