Here are Steve Fryer’s teams 16-20:
16. Tustin (4-3): The Tillers started 0-3 and have won four in a row, including a 42-13 victory over Canyon that was more one-sided than expected. That score says that the Tustin double-wing offense is scoring points and controlling the clock, exactly as designed. Tustin plays a physical team Thursday, Villa Park, at Tustin.
17. Santa Margarita (2-5): Chances for a playoff berth shrunk when the Eagles lost to Servite, 39-19, last week. They play Mater Dei this week. A loss in that game could pretty much end any hopes for the playoffs. Why, then, is Santa Margarita still No. 17? Because the Eagles would be the best team in some leagues and a top playoff contender in many others.
18. Fullerton (6-1): It is obvious, the significant gap between the top two teams in the Freeway League and the other four. La Habra is 2-0 by a cumulative score of 107-0. Fullerton is 2-0 by a cumulative score of 92-7.
19. Western (5-2): The Pioneers are rolling over Orange League competition. Two weeks ago, it was a 48-14 victory over Magnolia. Last week, they pummeled Century, 62-0.
20. Cypress (4-3): In a league as competitively tight as the Empire League, any victory is huge. So the Centurions are in great position after a couple of close ones against league-championship contenders Kennedy, 27-20, and Valencia, 15-10. The Centurions are the only Empire team with a 2-0 league record.

Great Steve! Fullerton romps again…and drops another spot! SM…I know how you feel about Pac 5/Trinity league/D1 schools, but c’mon 5 losses is 5 losses. Tustin has been playing well, I’ll admit that, but SM?? You have to beat whose on your schedule, plain and simple. They chose their schedule….Good to see you reward La Habra for doing exactly what we’ve been doing to our league opponents, but we drop another spot? Kinda fishy…
Wow!!! Steve fryer u are a coward!!! Does fullerton have to lose games to move up in the rankings??!! I’ll let my boys know
Ok Indians from the way I take it, it’s not the wins but how you win. And I am suprised he ranked Cypress in the top 20. Thanks Fryer. I do mean that I expected them to be below that.
I do not understand the loyalty for Santa Margarita High School. They were 30 seconds away from being 1-6. Pretty much any team from the Trinity League would be a playoff contender in most leagues. I assume you have a close connection with Santa Margarita other wise it wouldn’t make sense. The school has had one year, which was 2006 when they competed, other than that they have made to the playoffs by a sympathy card (an aat large bid). The are several other teams that are worthy of recognition above Santa Margarita. Please get real and open your eyes.
Western dominates the Orange League, so they should change to another with more of their skill. Unless they want the easy way into the play-offs…!!!
Lets hear it for Fryers football folies…..LOL. Thanks Steve for allowing my son to see how important it is to actually graduate and the devastating results if you fail.
MAN FRYER JUST DO WHAT YOU DO… DON’T LISTEN TO THESE MONKEYS ON HERE CAUSE ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE RANKING.. THEY CAN’T JUST GO OUT THERE AND JUST WIN INSTEAD THEY ON HERE TALKING THEIR ISH… MAN, WHO CARES ABOUT THE RANKING JUST WIN YO GAMES, GO TO PLAYOFFS AND WIN THOSE GAMES AND THEN WIN THE C.I.F CHAMPIONSHIP.. THEN ONCE ACCOMPLISHING ALL THAT THEN YOU COULD TALK YO ISH… BUT MAN 4GET ALL THESE ISH TALKERS THEY DON’T KNOW FOOTBALL, ALL THEY KNOW IS TALKING ISH AND WANTING TO BE RANKED HIGHER THAN A TEAM WHOS RECORD IS WORSE THAN THIERS… AND I AM TALKING ABOUT FULLERTON.. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH LOL…
GO INDIANS..
