Here are Steve Fryer's teams 11-15:
11. Fountain Valley (5-2): The Barons beat a top-10 team, Newport Harbor, last week. Their losses were to top-10 teams: Tesoro, and by three points to Esperanza. Looking far down the road, Fountain Valley now is a top contender for the Pac-5 Division's one at-large berth. An upset victory over Los Alamitos this week over Edison next week likely would guarantee the Barons entry into the playoffs.
12. Newport Harbor (4-3): It's not like the Sailors were steamrollered in their two league losses –-- 14-7 to Edison, 22-21 to Fountain Valley. Their other loss was to Long Beach Poly. Harbor has a couple of quality victories in pocket, over Dana Hills and Corona del Mar.
13. Dana Hills (4-3): Quarterback Sean Schroeder threw six touchdown passes in the Dolphins' 63-13 blasting of Capistrano Valley. He has 23 touchdowns against only three interceptions, an excellent ratio. Schroeder's 2,065 passing yards leads the county.
14. Laguna Hills (7-0): The Hawks remained undefeated by beating University, 42-14. Laguna Hills, which has only nine games on its regular-season schedule, has two challenges ahead: Beckman (5-2) this week; Irvine (6-2) the next. It's difficult to keep Laguna Hills higher than this, given the type of competition taken on by the teams ranked ahead of the Hawks.
15. Foothill (6-1): The Knights are dominating the Sea View League. They are 2-0 with league games remaining against Trabuco Hills (4-3), Northwood (2-5) and El Toro (1-6). Foothill has won six in a row since a season-opening loss to Dana Hills.

This part of the ranking was probably the least complicated to compile. Can't move Foothill above Dana Hills. Laguna Hills dominated against half the Seaview League in the preseason. So LH being over Foothill is right, for now. The only way Foothill moves above an undefeated LH team depends on how they do against the 3 Seaview teams Laguna manhandled.
didnt laguna beat corona del mar too...by a lot. and they beat canyon, im just throwing that out there.
14 seems too high for laguna. ive been watching them on game of the week. there defense is only getting better and refsnyder is starting to look like a real quarterback. I think segerstrom should have broken the top 25 as well. There a better team then St. Margrets and irvine.
foothill moving down for beating woodbridge 34-0?
nice....
yeah..Foothill should stay at 14 with FV moving up to 15
LH moving past the Knights is based stirctly on their undefeated record. No other reason. LH is good but I think we have a stronger team.
It's hard to lobby for any team here because there is no way that they can crack the top 10. Even if a team int he top 10 loses, they stay there or fall to 11-15 only to go back up a week later. I'd love to see what happens if Capo Valley beat Dana Hills or san clemente in league play, would that mean they're worthy of a top 10 ranking when everyone here knows they're clearly not? this is worse than the BCS....
I don't expect LHHS to move up in the top 10 ever until they take on a really challenge like Foothill, San Clemente, "Dana Hills" or any other team with a realistic shot at challenging them but COME ONE! For Newport Harbor, you consider a victory over CDM a "quality win?" if that was the case, LHHS spanked them hard so maybe we should rate by comparing victories from similar teams?
i have to say i agree the Top 10 is ranked just as retarded as the BCS ranking. But who cares. Play Hard, rankings in the local newspaper Don't mean anything
GOOD CALL 1234... THATS THE TRUTH...
laguna needs to be in the top 10 they've been so good and how does an undefeated team ranked 14 i just dont see why
Hawks run the table and drop in the standings! We could have spanked CDM as hard as NB but our coaching staff has too much class, UNI is the exception but that is another story. Trabucco, Canyon, Segerstrom ask the opposing coaches what they think of LH.
Is LH that good or did the teams LH has played have their worst games of the season? Check out the second half scores, that's where it really matters. This is a solid defensive team, (check ou the nose guard)with outstanding linebackers and really really good corners, the O line is doing a great job even with the loss of two starters, they can ground and pound and special teams are top notch. I would love to see LH play any team ranked 8-13
