HUNTINGTON BEACH -- Four Ocean View turnovers led to 23 Santa Ana points Thursday night and allowed the Saints to score a 37-15 victory over the Seahawks at Ocean View.
After a scoreless first quarter, a fumble recovery and interception by the Saints (4-3, 1-1) defense led to Luis Diaz’s 29-yard field goal and a 5-yard Bobby Peralta run for a 10-0 lead with just over a minute gone in the second.
After a Nolan Tippy scoring pass to Kenny Tarpley cut the lead to 10-7, the Saints scored two touchdowns in the final 75 seconds of the half, one coming on Kenny Martinez’s 35-yard fumble recovery.
Martinez recovered the opening kickoff of the second half, which led to a 13-yard scoring run by Peralta.
Tarpley and Tippy combined on another scoring play for the Seahawks (3-4, 0-2) but it was too late.
Santa Ana ended its scoring as Christopher Ledesma hit Art Chavez for a 15-yard TD with 9:11 to go.
