GARDEN GROVE -- Ricky Vu rushed for 154 yards and a touchdown as Los Amigos defeated Rancho Alamitos, 17-3, in a Garden Grove League game Thursday at Bolsa Grande High.

Vu’s 50-yard TD run midway through the fourth quarter gave the Lobos (3-4, 2-0) a 17-0 lead. Vu has 1,001 yards rushing on the year.

Jose Gonzalez’s 51-yard field goal in the opening quarter gave Los Amigos a 3-0 lead.

With less than a minute left in the first half, Lobos defensive back Francisco Pullido intercepted Mike Franks’ pass in the end zone.

One play later, Gonzalez lofted a long pass down the left sideline that Antwon Castaneda hauled in, eluded a defender then outran his pursuers to score an 80-yard touchdown with 16 seconds remaining in the half.

The Lobos led at intermission, 10-0.

The Vaqueros’ (2-5, 0-2) only score came on a Juan Garcia 35-yard field goal in the final minute of play.
