Orange, Orange Coast and Pacific Coast updates

Here are updates for the Orange, Orange Coast and Pacific Coast leagues:

Orange League

Western (3-2) was the overwhelming preseason pick to win the league title. The Pioneers tested themselves against some tough competition in their nonleague schedule. Anaheim (3-2) and Santa Ana Valley (2-3) are the next best teams, but if Robert Cruz continues picking up yards at Magnolia (2-3), then the Sentinels could be a surprise.

Orange Coast League

All five teams enter league play under .500. Laguna Beach (1-5) was the preseason pick to win. Calvary Chapel (2-4) and Estancia (2-4) are both on three-game losing streaks. Calvary Chapel should be the favorite after picking up victories over Magnolia and a resurgent La Quinta. The Eagles were tabbed to finish fourth.

Pacific Coast League

All five teams enter over .500. Laguna Hills (5-0) has made itself the favorite to win the title. The Hawks have one of the county’s stingiest defenses and have allowed 9.2 points a game. Irvine (5-1) and Corona del Mar (5-1) are the favorites to grab the other two playoff spots, but University (4-2) could cause some trouble.
