No. 6 Mater Dei (3-2) vs. No. 2 Servite (3-2)
Friday, 7:30 p.m., at Cal State Fullerton
Outlook: Is this the year? Or will things remain the same with Mater Dei celebrating a victory?
The Friars must be tired of watching the Monarchs celebrate at their expense.
Servite might have been caught looking ahead when it lost to Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks last week. Mater Dei had a much-needed bye.
This game will be decided in the trenches. Mater Dei’s offensive line has struggled keeping the pressure off of Matt Barkley. Servite thrives on pressuring the quarterback and trying to force mistakes.
That happened in the Servite-Edison game, as the Friars sacked Matt Viles six times and intercepted him three times.
Will Mater Dei be able to get any pressure on Servite quarterback Cody Fajardo? Also, will the Monarchs be able to stop playmakers Greg Portis and Bijon Samoodi?
There are a lot of questions surrounding this game, but the big one remains: Can Servite end “the streak” and record its first victory over rival Mater Dei since 1988?

Good Luck both Team's and all The Anaheim Pop Warner Allum
On paper this should be Servite's year. But Mater Dei will win because no one thinks they can. You can throw out the Edison game unless the same officiating crew is assigned to this game.
Servite's time has arrivied !. I do feel that both schools should have put a cap on tickets sold to a single person. My siblings went to Mater Dei where I ejnoyed attending Sewrvit's games for the past 12 years. Servite has always amazed me with the support given by parents , aumni's and the attendence to the games is stellar by far! Why this annual cross town rivialy has not been booked to tAnahiem Stadium is beyond belief! I won't be able to attend this because I for one had no idea that Mater Dei opened it's school grounds at 4:00 A.M.! Rather I'll be in Long Beach watching St. Anthony's football team of 60 years past be honored.
Amen to Jim H's comment. It should be a great game as long as Edison's HORRIFIC officiating crew is no where in sight. They were so bad...they shouldn't be allowed on the field to officiate ANY TEAM!!!
Mater Dei, coach Dave Money, has worked on a special offense for this game. ..........I know it looks like Servite should win, BUT no go. Mater Dei wins 35-21
