I’m not sure of the reason but the anticipated boys water polo match between visiting Los Alamitos and Newport Harbor has been moved from Wednesday night to Thursday night at Newport Harbor at 7. The two other Sunset League matches — Fountain Valley-Marina, 5 p.m. and Edison-Esperanza, 6 — will be played Wednesday night at Newport.

im curious why before there was alot of hype about MAter dei water polo and now there is not. They have fallen to 6th in the county? there is no way they are 6th in the county.
Oh and the friars are going down tommorow.
mdfootballparent — The rankings are pretty tough to do right now for spots 3 thru 7 — Foothill, Villa Park, Newport, Mater Dei, Corona del Mar — all have some tough losses and the head-to-head battles don’t help because of the parity among this group — Mater Dei has been hurt by the back-to-back losses to Coronado. The Islanders lost to Newport Harbor, 12-5. You can make arguments some of the other teams, too, but losing twice to the same team that was blown out by another county team is a bit of a blow. The good news for Mater Dei: the North-South Challenge awaits and the Monarchs will get a chance to improve their ranking later this month
