Pacifica (1-3) vs. Troy (1-3)
Friday, 7 p.m., at Fullerton District Stadium
Overview: Remember last year’s game? Troy’s Derrick Coleman rushed for 194 yards. The wide receivers, Tyler Ortiz of Pacifica (164 yards) and Troy’s Josh Swaney (185), couldn’t be stopped by the opposing team’s defensive backs as Pacifica escaped with a 43-42 victory.
Now, the majority of the names have changed and what we have are two teams in desperate need of a victory.
The Mariners have lost three consecutive games, while the Warriors are coming off a loss to Diamond Bar.
Pacifica should have the edge with a pair of senior leaders in running back Josh Brannon and quarterback Raymond Huizar.
If you look in the Empire League, Pacifica has the best QB-RB combo. So, be on the lookout for the Huizar-Brannon show.
This could be another high-scoring affair. Pacifica has allowed 34 and 37 points in its previous two games, while Troy has allowed 43, 49 and 33 on three occasions this season.
