Here are Steve Fryer’s teams 16-20:
16. Fullerton (4-1) The Indians rolled to a 42-8 victory over Brea Olinda as county-leading rusher Micheal Allain ran for 185 yards and two touchdowns. Fullerton-La Habra on Nov. 7 is looking like a great game.
17. Fountain Valley (4-1) This is a tough team to figure out, in terms of trying to place them in the right spot in the top 15. The Barons’ only loss was to Tesoro, a Top 10 team, but their four victories are against teams that are a cumulative 3-15. Still, any team with Kyle Middlebrooks, whose 827 rushing yards is third-most in the county, must be good.
18. Tustin (2-3) Tillers coach Myron Miller said this team would improve as the season progressed, and that prediction appears accurate. After losing to Orange Lutheran, 10-0, to go 0-3, Tustin has beaten Centennial of Compton and Western.
19. Western (2-2) Ruben Ortega had a good game – 178 yards rushing with two touchdowns – but the Pioneers needed more production from other sources. They also had a tough time controlling Tustin’s running game, which is going to give a lot of teams problems.
20. Canyon (2-2) The Comanches had a bye last week. They have an interesting game this week, when they play Laguna Hills on Friday at Laguna Hills.
