Here are Steve Fryer’s teams 11-15:
11. La Habra (3-1) Why is La Habra not in the O.C. Top 10? Because not enough top 10 voters included La Habra on their top-10 ballots. The Highlanders were in my top 10, having looked very good in the 28-21 loss to Los Alamitos.
12. Dana Hills (2-2) The Dolphins lost by one to Newport Harbor. Your Frankly Fryer pal is a big strength-of-schedule guy, and Dana’s two losses are to Top 10 teams Edison and Harbor.
13. Laguna Hills (4-0) Laguna Hills was No. 12, one notch above Dana Hills last week. A one-point loss to Newport Harbor carries more value than the 45-9 victory Laguna Hills had over Woodbridge last week. Cumulative record of teams Laguna Hills has defeated – 4-14.
14. Foothill (4-1) The Knights won easily against El Modena, 35-10. That’s what good teams do – get one-sided victories over teams they are supposed to beat like that.
15. Santa Margarita (2-3) Some people will see the Eagles at this slot and make the usual “Trinity League bias” claim. Santa Margarita last week lost to Chaparral of Temecula, which is 3-1 and lost only to Centennial of Corona, the No. 2 team in calhisports.com’s California rankings. The other losses were to La Costa Canyon, one of the top teams in San Diego County, and Foothill.

I don’t get it…if you don’t play nobody you don’t move up. Okay, we played LOSAL and still….nothing. We lost by 7!!! With 7 minutes to go in the game LH came back with touchdowns to bring the score from 28 – 7 to 28 – 21. Remember, we’re talking about LOS AL – The number 4 team!!! We made some mistake but the officiating was BAD. p.s. Coach Barnes please next time don’t make excuses for your guys. You stated your team got a little relaxed at the end. Is that the best you can do to cover them when LH scored TWICE in the final minutes. I’m not a coach but I know this much…YOU PLAY FOUR QUARTERS OF FOOTBALL AND THEN IT’S OVER….YOU DON’T PLAY AND RELAX BECAUSE YOU THINK YOU GOT THE GAME IN THE BAG.. IF I WERE YOU I’D REMIND MY GUYS OF THIS FACT BECAUSE MAYBE NEXT TIME THEY MIGHT NOT BE SO LUCKY….
LA HABRA LOST PERIOD WHO CARES BY HOW MUCH…STILL LOST… IF YOU WOULDVE WON OF COURSE YOU MOVE UP…YOU LOST=NO MOVEMENT…AND IT TOOK UNTIL THE 4TH QUARTER TO SCORE WHEN LOS AL RELAXED AS THEIR COACH PERFECTLY PUT IT…
I feel your pain jerry but that just goes to show you that this means nothing at all the field determines all not these clowns
In your comentary about Santa Margarita ranking #16. SM beat La Costa 18-14 and lost to St Boneventure..
If thats relaxing for Los Al they should of learned when JV won there second string Varsity team… Go JV !!!!!! Next year look out thats are next year Varsity team…. Los Al were coming!!!!
Laguna Hills gets no respect. Steve Fryer said that Canyon was going to stomp on LH and what happened??? I do give it to Fryer for trying, though, because it would be hard to compare all these teams who havent played similar teams and are in different leagues.
