Week 4: By the numbers

Here is a recap of the action from Week 4, according to the numbers.

14 – The number of points Edison allowed Mater Dei in Friday’s 24-14 victory. That was the lowest total by the Monarchs since 11/2/2007 (12 points against Orange Lutheran).

11 – Matt Barkley’s interception total through the first five games.

271 – Total yards by Los Alamitos quarterback Clark Evans (163 passing and 108 rushing) as the Griffins held onto defeated La Habra, 28-21 Friday.

5-0 - The records of both Mission Viejo and Tesoro in their South Coast League showdown, Oct. 17. Both teams are off next week.

9 - The number of victories St. Margaret’s needs to tie the county record for consecutive winning streak (41, set by Mission Viejo from 2001-03).

325 – Rushing yards for Century in its 33-6 victory over Saddleback Friday. Abraham Palacios led the Roadrunners with 170 yards.

4 – The number of consecutive 100-plus yard games by Ricky Vu of Los Amigos to start the season.

2 – Touchdowns (70-yard interception return and 12-yard reception) scored by Godinez’s Terry Williams in a 15-7 victory over Marshall of Pasadena. The victory was the first ever victory for Godinez.

13.3 – Yards per carry for Garden Grove’s Sean Young (253 yards on 19 carries) in a 42-24 victory over Laguna Beach.

293 – Rushing yards for Tustin in its 21-16 nonleague victory over Western Friday.

587 – Combined passing yards between Foothill’s Zach Griffith (288 yards) and El Modena’s Anthony Daniel (299 yards) in Friday’s 35-10 Foothill victory.

185 – Rushing yards for Fullerton’s Michael Allain as the Indians defeated Brea Olinda, 42-8. His fourth game eclipsing the 170-yard mark.

9 of 11 – Ocean View quarterback Nolan Tippy’s numbers after starting the game with six consecutive incompletions as the Seahawks defeated Costa Mesa, 26-14.

323 – Total yards (122 rushing and 101 receiving) for Valencia’s Isaac Dominguez as the Tigers defeated Capistrano Valley, 28-17.

3 - Touchdowns for Corona del Mar quarterback Mitch Sands as the Sea Kings defeated host Magnolia, 27-6 Thursday night.

173 and 4 – Sam Wilson’s first half rushing total and touchdowns for Marina in its 41-0 victory over Orange. Wilson finished with 223 yards.

188 - Rushing yards for Trabuco Hills’ running back Shane DeCillo to lead the Mustangs to its first victory of the season.
