Mater Dei entered Friday's game against Edison averaging 44.7 points a game. The Monarchs scored 14.
That is why the Edison defense is this week's choice for stars of the week. Edison recorded five sacks on Matt Barkley and intercepted him twice (Jeff Crissman and Matt Reza) in the 24-14 victory. If I had to give out a game ball, I would give one to everyone on the Edison defense.
