SANTA ANA -- Santiago defeated Santa Ana Valley, 27-21, in a tough battle Thursday night at Santa Ana Stadium.
The Cavaliers (3-1) trailed, 14-6, going into the second half, but two Falcons (2-2) fumbles in the third quarter put the Cavaliers back in the fight.
On the opening kickoff of the second half, the Falcons fumbled the ball on their 32-yard line, which would eventually lead to a touchdown by Cavaliers running back Edward Hornsby.
Hornsby had nine carries for 68 yards and two touchdowns.
Late in the third quarter, the Falcons were driving inside the Cavaliers’ 15-yard line when they fumbled again, and Missael Lagunas ran the ball back 85 yards for a touchdown.
