CAPISTRANO VALLEY (2-1) VS. VALENCIA (2-1)

Site, date, time:
Valencia High, Fri. Oct. 3, 7 p.m.

Outlook: Capistrano Valley started 2-0 against teams that don’t seem to be playoff teams this year, Marina and El Toro. The Cougars were knocked down last week when they lost to Long Beach Jordan, 38-7. Valencia is unlikely to put that many points on the board, but the Tigers might not need to.

Their defense should be good enough to lead the way to victory. Valencia gave up 24 points in a loss to Western, but Western is going to score a lot against a lot of good teams. Valencia always seems to get better as the season progresses, so look for that improvement to continue against Capistrano Valley.

Winner: Valencia
