No. 13 Dana Hills (2-1) vs. No. 10 Newport Harbor (2-1)
Friday, 7 p.m., at Newport Harbor High
Preview: I’m going out on a limb and say that this is a must-win game for the Dolphins. Do you agree?
Dana Hills needs this victory to be considered a contender. Dana Hills struggled when it played Edison back on Sept. 19 (four turnovers and eight sacks allowed).
Now, they run into the Sailors.
Newport Harbor is old-fashioned, all the way down to their dark-blue jersey uniforms. They will hit you in the mouth all night.
Look at what they did to Corona del Mar last week. The Sea Kings entered the game scoring 47 points a game (that’s unheard of) and allowing 7.6 points. Then the Sailors showed up.
Newport Harbor scored 42 points; CdM scored 13.
Dana Hills has more offensive talent (Sean Schroeder, Brett Giesen, Dylan Denso and Connor St. Clair) than CdM, but can they avoid the turnovers and protect Schroeder?
Or will it be the Edison game all over again?
