SANTA ANA -- A pair of first-quarter touchdowns by Robert Magana gave Santa Ana all the offense it needed in a 41-0 victory over host Century on Thursday night at Santa Ana Stadium.
Magana, who led the Saints (2-0) with 113 yards on 14 carries, scored on runs of 3 and 12 yards in the first 10 minutes.
Santa Ana extended its lead to 28-0 in the second quarter on Alex Serna’s 18-yard fumble recovery TD and a 10-yard pass from Chris Ledesma to Chris Garcia.
While the offense was rolling up 375 yards, the Saints defense allowed just 29 yards and four first downs by Century (0-2).
Santa Ana coach Scott Daniels told his defense to play hard and “not give an inch” from the get-go and it worked.
“It’s a big rivalry win, so we’ll take it,” Daniels said.
Randy Gonzalez and Frankie Nereida each added 3-yard scoring runs in the second half.
