ANAHEIM -- The Cypress Centurions fell to the Artesia Pioneers, 20-17, Thursday night despite quarterback Max Reza’s 156 yards of total offense (125 passing), and two touchdown passes.

The Centurions (0-2) were unable to hold off the Pioneers (2-1). The Centurions hung in until the very end but a fumble at the start the third quarter began the downward spiral that would eventually lead to a Pioneers victory.

The Centurions were able to move the ball but were unable to capitalize on opportunities.

They had the first possession of the game and moved the ball down to the Pioneers’ 20 and had to settle for a field goal after failing to reach the end zone.

Cypress had a chance to win in the fourth but was unable to complete a pass on fourth and 8 allowing the Pioneers to escape.

It looks like the Cents are rebuilding awhole new team out there. Recievers seem to be looking for big yard catches and start to run before haveing full control of the ball, that is not going to work. Also on alot of the plays there seems to be a fraction of hesitation before the ball carrier runs with the ball and that I believe give the other team enough time to get in for the tackle.
