11. Santa Margarita (Trinity) 1-1

Fryer’s comment: All-World quarterback Ryan World tied Carson Palmer’s school single-game TD passes record, with five in victory over Poway.

12. Laguna Hills (Pacific Coast) 1-1

Fryer’s comment: Hawks got better as the game went on – something you like to see from a team in its season opener – in 26-6 victory over Trabuco Hills.

13. La Habra (Freeway) 1-0

Fryer’s comment: The Reggie Bush of county football, Ronnie Hillman, scored three touchdowns and had an 85-yard kickoff return for a fourth TD nullified by penalty in a 40-15 victory over Downey.

14. Dana Hills (South Coast) 2-0

Fryer’s comment: The Dolphins already have twice as many victories as they did in 2007. They face a “let’s-find-out-how-good-they-are” challenge this week – Edison.

15. El Dorado (Century) 1-0

Fryer’s comment: Golden Hawks beat Kennedy by a lot – 35 points, one week after Kennedy beat Tustin. Given that Tustin is a Century League rival and contender, that bodes well for the Hawks this year.”
