The top two didn't change (El Dorado, La Habra), but there were a lot of changes elsewhere. The biggest drop went to Kennedy (five places) after losing to El Dorado.
1. El Dorado (Century) 1-0
2. La Habra (Freeway) 1-0
3. Pacifica (Garden Grove) 1-0
4. Valencia (Empire) 1-0
5. Western (Orange) 1-0
6. Trabuco Hills (Sea View) 0-1
7. Canyon (Century) 1-1
8. Fullerton (Freeway) 1-1
9. Kennedy (Empire) 1-1
10. Cypress (Empire) 0-1
Others: Santa Ana Valley (Orange) 1-0; Brea Olinda (Century) 1-0; El Modena (Century); Loara (Empire) 1-0; Sonora (Freeway) 1-0; Anaheim (Orange) 1-0; Foothill (Sea View) 1-1; Troy (Freeway) 0-1.
Now this is a tough division, I mean come on, all solid programs. Well except Kennedy, they were fortunate enough to play a one dimensional team that lost it's work horse in week 1. they'd be out of the top 10 otherwise...
amen to that. this is a very solid division. all orange county powerhouses from el dorado to laguna hills to cypress to pacifica. I would put this division up against any other,,,well except the pac 5 of course. but its like comparing apples to oranges with those private schools. im sure if the public schools had the power to recruit players like the private schools do, schools like mater dei wouldnt be so dominate. quite an unfair advantage...
excuse me i didnt mean laguna...i meant canyon
gooo mariners! cypress got lucky last year! wait til this the game this season! its gonna be ugly! i cant stand those spoiled cypress kids! we are gonna put them in their place!
december 7th, 2007.....remember that night?
those spoiled kids from cypress arent gonna know what hit em this year!
cypress looked dominate in their opening game against mater dei, NOT. they showed that fenton football is alive and well. it is very apparent that cypress can't do anything without saumur. reza is horrible and coe is irrelevant.
Classic GGL drivel that used to go on between Pacifica & Grove.
I think the "spoiled" Cypress kids will do their talking on the field...again.
Good luck finding someone to banter with.
Leave the GGL out of this Bick!
Besides, everyone knows Pacifica's the 'West Beverly Hills' of Garden Grove!
A large portion of pacifica's past and present players come from across town. So before you start talking about suburbia over there in west garden grove just remember a lot of the football players hail from the other side of town. GGL, yea...Pacifica has really got off on the wrong foot since joining the empire league.
Way to early to be concerned with rankings as some teams play much harder non league games then others, it's clear thus far that El Dorado and La Habra are the class of this dovision with Western a close third, after that it's a mad scramble for 4-10, overall a very balanced and even division except fot the Orange league who after Western is very very weak, Should be a very competitive year and a great playoff season, good luck to all and good health to all the players.
hey hey take it easy on those cypress kids. its a tough life when you have to drive bmw's and mercedes and big trucks to school every day. god forbid they should have to walk to school!
Fullerton football will surprise many this year.
get ready for a visit back to the finals this year.
GO FULLERTON!
I SAY PACIFICA-MARINERS EACH YEAR YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED MORE AND MORE,,,,, SO LAST YEAR WAS A GOOD YEAR WE LOST WE ARE OVER IT!!!! , AND PROUD,!!!!! YOU GO OUT THERE WORK HARD, STOP THE TRASH TALK AND LEAVE IT ON THE FIELD, ANOTHER CHALLENGE THIS YEAR CIF DIVISION TOUGH .. BUT ITS ONE GAME AT A TIME!!!! GO MARINERS,,, #1 FAN............
ITS HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME,, AND HOW HARD YOU WORK,,,,AND THAT IS HOW CHAMPS ARE MADE!! SO IF YOU WANT IT GO GET IT....!!!
who knows who will win, you can predict and that is it,, its up to each team to work hard, anything can happen in a football game, so stop the negative talk and let the kids play,,,,, no one is guarenteed
anything !!! so enjoy the ride and focus on the season and on on making the playoffs, but do it, with class............... and hard work............
Mariners,, get tough, play hard, and beleive anything is possible thru hard work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think Fullerton is going to be a force to be wreckened with this year. With Micheal Allain and the defense they have developed they are back in the game boys and girls. Beating El Dorado was a huge boost for these boys.. Watch us go. Sit back hold on and ejoy the ride.
GO INDIANS!
La Habra High School All The Way!!
Western for sure is going to take it this year... I mean they defeated two powerhouse teams, first Canyon, ranked 7... and then Valencia, ranked 4.. Dang... this year is the year... Be ready for Western to take it all the way.... and forget all ya haters thats gonna comment about this...
have you ever even been to cypress? sure it has its share of kids with nice cars but theres a lot of normal cars too. and we have plenty of kids walking to school. we're normal kids. stop calling us spoiled brats...because we're not! Line 6 for Life! Go Cypress!!!
