Outlook: The Battle of the Hills is the 2008 debut for both. Trabuco Hills advanced to the CIF-SS Southwest Division final last year, in which the Mustangs lost to El Dorado by one point. They should be good again this year, although graduation and the transfer of All-County defensive back Gabe Lemon to Orange Lutheran diminished their chances of returning to a division championship game. Laguna Hills brings back 17 starters from last year’s Pacific Coast League championship team, a team that lost to eventual Southern Division champion Cypress by four points in the playoffs. We had Laguna Hills at No. 11 in our preseason top 25.
