EL DORADO (0-0) VS. KENNEDY (1-0)
Site, time: Western High, Thursday 7 p.m.
Outlook: Two-time CIF-Southern Section Southwest Division defending champion El Dorado makes its 2008 debut against a team that last week made a heck of a comeback to win. Kennedy beat Tustin, 31-28, after trailing, 28-3. Quarterback Andy Peterson threw for 312 yards for the Fighting Irish in Brit Johnson’s head-coaching debut. El Dorado has a good quarterback, too. Senior Kane Wilson was the Century League’s MVP last season. But two areas of concern for El Dorado are the offensive and defensive lines, excellent units last year that were depleted by graduation. Kennedy annually is very good up front on offense and defense, so this game will be a good test for El Dorado.
Winner: El Dorado
