He was an All-County cornerback as a sophomore and junior – a rare feat. Mascarenas had four interceptions last season, although opposing teams rarely tried to get a pass by him. He also will play receiver for the Diablos, and will pair with Kevin Chandler to catch passes from standout quarterback Allan Bridgford, making them one of the top receiving combos in the county. Mascarenas committed to UCLA.
