WEEK 9 – NOV. 7
FULLERTON AT LA HABRA
AT LA HABRA HIGH
This is a rematch of last season's CIF-SS Southeast Division championship game that La Habra won, 16-6. They did not play each other in a Freeway League game during the regular season, as fires and the resulting poor air quality deleted many games. Two of the county's top offensive players will be in this game: all-purpose Ronnie Hillman of La Habra and All-CIF running back Michael Allain of Fullerton. Allain rushed for 2,091 yards and 20 touchdowns last year. Fullerton should be strong defensively, too, with returning all-league selections Randall Hicks on the line and Cremsson Saldivar at linebacker. La Habra has plenty of strong returnees on defense, too. So, despite the offensive power both teams have, they are good enough defensively, too, that this could be a low-scoring, close game. It's unclear how much home-field is worth in Orange County high school football. But if any teams in the county have significant home-field advantage, La Habra is one of them. The home side of the on-campus stadium at La Habra will be filled, and the intimacy of the place puts spectators very close to the field. The La Habra community supports its high school football team like few other county communities support their school teams.
