Mission Viejo opens its season tonight in Hawaii, giving quarterback Allan Bridgford and the high-powered Diablos offense its first chance to show what it can do.
Here is what Bridgford said of his top two receivers, Kevin Chandler and Alex Mascarenas: “Honestly, I think I’ve got the two best receivers in the county.”
Mission Viejo gave Mascarenas spot-action time at receiver last year, but the UCLA-commit will be a starting receiver this fall.
“He’s Marty Tadman all over again,” Mission Viejo assistant coach Bret Johnson said.
That’s high praise for Mascarenas because Tadman was one heck of a playmaker for the Diablos.
I think Mission Viejo will be improved this season and probably will put up at least 40 points against Baldwin.
But who is going to be the runningback?
Some kid named Marshall. I took a stroll down to MV practice to see what kind of size they have up front. They have the beef. Bridgford will put up more yards than Barkley because he has the line, has the receivers and the Marshall will lay down the law….. Tesoro has 3 linemen over 300 lbs The SCL will represent this year and both could go deep in the Pac-5 playoffs San Clemente always plays hard I don’t care who came or who went, that is a well-coached program and SCL fans will have al ot of good football games to see this year.
good luck boys!
Check the stats of the 1st game…
You can not carry the ball if the team is in Maui playing and you are back in MV! :0
