14. Cypress (10-3) – Last year’s Southern Division champion have 14 starters returning – seven on offense, seven on defense.
They include all-league safety Shawn Hansen, No. 34 at left, (75 tackles, two interceptions in 2007) and all-league linebacker Vince Perry (155 tackles, two INTs in ‘07). Running backs Taylor Coe and Cody Guilliante rushed for 747 and 289 yards, respectively, last year, and both averaged nearly 6 yards a carry. Cypress cranked up the nonleague schedule for this year. The Centurions will play Mater Dei in their season opener Sept. 11 at Santa Ana Stadium.

#14? Are you serious? No Saumur, enough said.
this year the cypress centurions will play like no other high school football team. they will play some tough teams in the non-league but if they can play hard and have no mistakes, they will win league easy — even against their division foe pacifica WHO THEY BEAT IN THE CIF CHAMPIONSHIP game after being behind 17 at half. they will never give up, which no one ever sees in a high school team. i see this team winning their cif section again if they stay healthy
This year’s group of seniors know nothing but Fenton football. Look out…
No way will they win their CIF division this year! Keep in mind their not in the southern division anymore… get real.
Easy Vinnie…
Cypress was a couple bad bounces away from beating Fullerton, the Southeast runner-up, last year. There weren’t any GGL or OCL teams on the other sidelines during the playoffs either. It was Laguna Hills, Anaheim, Valencia and Pacifica.
The Southern Div thing is over-blown when talking about Cypress and the Empire League last year…and THIS year.
Cypress (Fenton & Staff) knows how to adjust during during the game. I don’t know if they’ll go all the way, but you can bet they’ll be in the hunt. They have put the time in the weight room and on the field. Fenton Football is team football. Go Centurions!!!!!
there is no way cypress is in front of el dorado. they will not win league because they couldn’t even do it with saumur. they will have no chance to win cif, especially in this new division.
these boys are not that good…and as good as season as they had last year, i’m challenging the fans…give ‘em a little more support. it was week early on last year.
Another interesting year for the entire Cypress community. The parents are ready, the students and the entire school and you can bet the players are ready. There is a certain swagger about Cypress football that cannot be matched. With a Fenton Selbe combo this team is bound for a great year. Now lets take down Kennedy! Go Centurions!
Cypress is good, yes, but will finish 2nd to Pacifica in the EL
This year’s squad returns a lot of starters, has the biggest O-Line I can remember, and has some skill guys that are fast as heck. As hard as they’ve been working this off-season, and as well as they are coached, the ‘08 edition of the Cents has top 10 upside…even without #11.
Last year’s “re-building” team that replaced 20 of 22 starters surprised a lot of folks by winning it all. I think a lot less people will be surprised if it happens again.
14TH NOT EVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#14 in the County but #10 in their Divison…huh? weird. Cypress lost Ryan Saumur who did EVERYTHING, establishing a running game with taylor coe will be nearly impossible and Reza isn’t good enough to throw the ball 30 times and win games by himself. 2nd place finish and a first-round loss, maybe second, for the Cypress Centurions this year.
no 10 in early cif polls….but #14 in the county…doesnt make sense? fryer is nuts. and how are they ahead of the number one team in the southwest divison and back to back cif champion ?
cypress has a good team this ear especially with their new transfers. good defensive backs and oline.
what the heck is line six? that sounds really stupid and every cypress person says it and its all over your clothes. you all look dumb!
i love cypress they look awesome in line six.
cypress 4 life
Nobody here can talk at all.
You haven’t seen the new team
You have no idea how good we are
Save your trash until season starts
LINE SIX FOR LIFE
hey hafer you need to keep your mouth closed line six 4 life and forever at cypress you arent in the program til you walk, breath, bleed it. a team and a family. they do special thing at cypress that no school can do. if someone does sumthing wrong they help each other. one man falls they get up theres no man left behind. thats line six so stop talk crap and you watch cypress and you will learn

Line Six for Life!
even if this yrs team is more expieranced and has more talent than last yrs they surely wont be as lucky, especially now with a bullseye on thier chest. i can see a team squeking out a miracle comeback in one playoof game, but the cents did it in all four of them? how often does that happen?
haha champions? easy, you have 1. John Selbe is who? and chris jenson sounds pretty intense on here, are you like a parent or something, please stops with the whole, “they do things no other programs do”. Here are some things they won’t do…go undefeated, win league, get past the second round, win another CIF Championship.

yes cypress won the championship last year, John Selbe is the guy who wrote the poem and the offensive coordinator and chris jenson is obviously one of the many centurion fans out there supporting his hometown high school. there is a sense of pride all over cypress that YOU will never understand.
