All-Star Football Game: Traffic tip ...

July 9th, 2008, 12:36 pm · 1 Comment · posted by STEVE FRYER, ocvarsity.com

The OC All-Star Football Game (avoiding the very long, official title) is Friday at 7:15 p.m. at Orange Coast College. That also is opening night for the Orange County Fair, just a few hundred yards from OCC.

A few ideas from someone who has been to a lot of these all-star games that have coincided with the first night of the Fair ...

If you are going south on the 55, take the 405 north and exit on Fairview and proceed south on Fairview from there. (See red route below)

Alternatively, from 55 south, exit Baker, go west on Baker and then south on Fairview. (See blue route below)

Once you are on Fairview, there are two good routes into the OCC parking lot closest to the football Stadium (LeBard Stadium).

1. Turn right (west) on Adams and then make that left-turn entry in to the lot;

2. Continue south past Adams and turn right on Monitor (which borders the OCC baseball field) and proceed west just a short distance to the main lot.

If the 405 is your route the whole way, just get off on Fairview or even Harbor. From the Harbor exit, go south on Harbor, left (east) on Adams and off of Adams make that right turn in to the lot. (See pink route below)

Locals and people who have been to OCC plenty of times are not going to need all of those directions. But maybe they will help make it a more enjoyable night for somebody.
