Baseball: Another morning of coin flips …

Coin flips this morning (Saturday, May 17) determined the home teams in four CIF-Southern Section second-round playoff games involving Orange County teams. And the winners are …

… actually, the winner is: El Toro. County teams lost the other three coin flips.

El Toro won its flip, and will be home against Crescenta Valley in a Division II game Tuesday.

Katella lost its flip, so the Knights will be at Upland in another Division II game.

In Division IV, Sonora lost its flip, sending the Raiders to Kaiser of Fontana.

And in Division VI, Sage Hill lost a flip, and is headed to Apple Valley Christian.

When two teams meet after the first round of the playoffs, the team with the fewest number of playoff home games at that point of the playoffs is the home team. If the teams have played an equal number of home playoff games, then a coin flip deterimes the home team.
