OC Varsity ~ High school sports talk by the staff of the Orange County Register

Semifinals: Ramos vs. Reid

May 12th, 2008, 11:00 am · 3 Comments · posted by TODD HARMONSON, OCREGISTER.COM

What athlete should advance to the finals of the voting to become the fans’ choice as the girls athlete of the year, Troy tennis player Alison Ramos or Kennedy softball player Jamia Reid?

Check out what the ocvarsity.com staff had to say about the candidates:

Alison Ramos
Troy tennis

Comment: “The USC-bound senior played flawlessly during her fourth and final year of varsity with the Warriors. She went unbeaten during the regular season and went on to punctuate the season with a CIF singles championship. Her deft playing ability proved to be too much for coaches who had no choice but to alter their game plan and find points instead of playing Ramos straight up.” — Miguel Melendez
