Mission Viejo quarterback Allan Bridgford committed to Cal this morning.
Bridgford had a long list of offers, and this morning told Cal coach Jeff Tedford he is committing to the Bears. Mission Viejo coach Bob Johnson said of the many schools interested in Bridgford, the ones most actively involved were, in alphabetical order, Arizona, Arizona State, Boston College, Negraska, Stanford, Tennessee and Texas Tech.
Bridgford, listed at 6-foot-4 and 217 pounds this past season as a junior, in 2007 completed 62 percent of his passes for 2,508 yards and 22 touchdowns.
“Cal is a great fit for Allan in every way,” Johnson said.
