Recruiting update: Bridgford names top-4

Mission Viejo quarterback Allan Bridgford has named his top-four, according to our main man, Damian Calhoun, who talked to the rising junior on Saturday. Bridgford’s top four are:   In alphabetical order: Arizona State, Cal, Notre Dame and UCLA.

While Calhoun spoke to Allan, I spoke to MV coach Bob Johnson via cell phone. Johnson was in Miami for his Elite 11 scouting. Johnson mentioned UCLA, Cal, Arizona State and Notre Dame were all interested in Bridgford along with Boston College, Arizona, Stanford and Texas Tech.

Interestingly, Johnson said UCLA is taking its time but in taking its time, my read is that Bridgford could be offered by early May. Yes, the recruiting cycles have really sped up when waiting to May to offer is taking one’s time.

Johnson said Bridgford has offers from: Arizona State, Arizona, Stanford and Texas Tech.

From a county angle, it would interesting if Bridgford landed at UCLA. He would then be competing against Edison grad Nick Crissman, who has also worked with Johnson.
