I thought Johnson was a slam dunk and a great hire for the Sea Kings — a young, energetic and smart football mind who knows Orange County. Man, this now looks so bad for CdM — to be in late March and still trying to find a football coach.

I know the AD has had health concerns and administrators have busy schedules but here’s a tip next time: chase a candidate in your own league first and get a good up-and-coming coach in place in a reasonable time. Look for a good match for your level and get it done.
