SAN CLEMENTE St. Margaret’s continued its New England Patriots impersonation Saturday night as it rolled to another lopsided victory, this time over crosstown rival Capistrano Valley Christian, 63-7, in a Academy League game at San Clemente High.
In winning nine consecutive games to start the season, the Tartans (9-0, 2-0) have outscored their opponents by an average of 49-11.
St. Margaret’s – ranked No. 1 in the CIF-Southern Section’s Northeast Division – has won 23 consecutive games and conclude the regular season next Saturday at Brethren Christian.
St. Margaret’s Hunter Steffien rushed for 131 yards and three touchdowns, and quarterback Cameron Hiller completed 8 of 9 passes for 213 yards and three touchdowns.
