Special to OCVarsity.comHUNTINGTON BEACH – Senior fullback Jesse Sundstrom had 200 rushing yards in 21 carries, including two touchdown runs, but it was not enough as Brethren Christian was defeated by St. Anthony of
Long Beach 29-26 in a nonleague game on Thursday night at Ocean View High.
Sundstrom got Brethren Christian on the scoreboard early in the first quarter on his third carry when he rushed for a 43-yard touchdown.
“Going into this game, we knew we needed to cut down on offensive mistakes like penalties and fumbles.” Warriors coach Bruce Eien said. With the loss, Brethren Christian falls to 1-4 while St. Anthony is now 3-1.
